GREETINGS!
I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome you to my very first e-newsletter by wishing you and your family a
very healthy and prosperous New Year.
While we look forward into 2009, we cannot deny the fact that we will probably face a very challenging
year. Despite the challenges before us, though, I am excited about the opportunities we will uncover in working together to find new and
creative ways to grow our businesses. I know if anyone can overcome the challenges ahead of us, it's our partners in travel...the travel agent
community. We have become accustomed to learning how to successfully navigate unchartered waters by dealing with challenging issues
before: comission caps, on-line travel sites, airlines, and a sagging economy. To deal with these issues, we have all called upon our
entreprneurial spirits and pushed the envelope to increase our sales by developing niche markets, setting up blogs to our clients about recent travel
experiences, and coming up with additional creative ways to sell travel. In 2009, we are faced with once again having to reinvent
ourselves. In looking ahead, the most important thing we can do is to continue working together more than we have ever done before. On
behalf of La Costa Resort and Spa, Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa, and our entire KSL Resorts Team, you have my commitment to support you in any way
that I can and to help make 2009 a successful and rewarding year for each of us.
I look forward to working with you in the year ahead and to
warmly welcoming your clients to La Costa and Rancho Las Palmas. We greatly value your partnership and more importantly the friendship that we
have developed over the years. Thanks again and see you soon!
Cheers,
Paul Rapozo

Paul's Hodgepodge
Our Signature Hole #13 on the North Course at La Costa is a
tricky one. Dave Doerr, La Costa's Director of Golf, offers this tip: "the 13th is a dogleg right par four that measures 387 yards from
the back tees. Although a short hole by most standards, it is very tricky and demands precise shot making. A fairway wood or utility
club is the best play from the tee as you want to fit the ball into a small landing area guarded by bunkers on the left and a water hazard on the
right. From there, the second shot is played to a slightly elevated green that is guarded by bunkers left and long, and shots missed right could
find their way into the water hazard. One of the better short par fours in golf."

When dining at Rancho Las Palmas' signature restaurant,
bluEmber-- Manager Rafael Lopez recommends Belle Glos, Pinot Noir Sonoma 2006, to complement any of the American Fusion entrees on our
new menu. "This wine is very well-balanced and fruit forward," says Rafael.
